Sharing history of British aerospace giant
BAE Systems wanted to highlight their pedigree in designing and developing world-changing technologies. They needed a series of three films, to draw a line between their extensive history and the technological developments of tomorrow – their defining moments, share opportunities open to exceptional graduates, and to form part of a commercial pitch to the Ministry of Defence for upcoming work on an update of the Challenger 2 tank.
What we did
We worked closely with BAE Systems to identify key people who could tell each story – both employees as well as external contributors. On top of this, we linked up with their legal team to make sure information included in the films was safe to be in the public domain, as some of the locations we were filming in were home to classified information.
We shot all the footage using 4K digital cinema cameras, so that the footage could be fed back into BAE Systems stock library. For the Challenger 2 Tank video, we used both a drone and a vehicle-mounted action camera to give us dynamic and compelling footage. The films were shared on YouTube, as well as on the client’s website. They were also used to support graduate recruitment efforts and in commercial tenders.
